Wilson Ong grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and went to Brigham Young University, where he received a BFA in Painting and Drawing. Wilson furthered his studies at the Art Students’ League in New York City, NY, where he studied with nationally renowned figurative artists Ted Seth Jacobs and Harvey Dinnerstein.
Wilson has sold his work professionally as an artist and illustrator since 1983. He has had exhibits and works featured across the country and in various collections such as the following:

In addition to his professional art, Wilson was a full-time art instructor and department chair for 9 years at Waterford School in Sandy, UT. His students garnered numerous national and in-state awards during that time.
Wilson presently resides with his family in Coeur d’Alene, ID, pursuing his art full-time. When time allows, Wilson teaches workshops for various sized groups.
“I have always enjoyed drawing since I first remember picking up a pencil in first grade. With time, my interest in art forms has been balanced between the human form, landscapes, still lifes, and varied artistic concepts. For most of my art career, oil painting has been my primary medium of choice, though I am also skilled in other media such as watercolor, pastels, gouche, acrylics, etc. Nevertheless, I primarily respond to oils for its spontaneity and flexibility as a medium. Overall, I think painting is a privilege.”
